Core concepts

Question triage: Sort questions into clarification, application, objection, support, privacy, and out-of-scope. Each category may need a different owner.

Public value: Prioritize questions that help many attendees while preserving a private path for account-specific or sensitive issues.

Answer integrity: Give the shortest complete answer, state assumptions, and say when research or professional advice is required.

The practical method

Use Q&A, chat, forms, or raised hands intentionally; explain the method.

The moderator labels and groups questions as they arrive.

Handle safety and access first, repeated teaching questions next, then individual cases.

Give the presenter compact cues for question, context, urgency, and remaining time.

Export unanswered questions, assign owners, and send answers only where appropriate.

Worked example

Open chat becomes a support queue and the presenter loses 15 minutes. The team moves questions to moderated Q&A, gives support a visible contact route, posts key links in chat, and reserves two planned question windows plus a final block.

Build the template

Create this working artifact before moving to the next lesson:

  • Question channels
  • Triage tags
  • Priority rules
  • Presenter cue format
  • Unanswered-question owner

Quality checklist

  • Attendees know where to ask
  • Moderation protects the room
  • Sensitive cases move private
  • The presenter can say ‘I don’t know’
  • Unanswered questions have owners
